The holidays are the busiest shopping season of the year, and more people than ever are choosing to shop online instead of facing the crowds at malls and stores. Did you know that when you shop online at Amazon, you can also support your favorite charitable organization like Wilkinson Center? That’s right – you can cross off everyone on your shopping list while giving back to Wilkinson Center!
Founded in 2013, the AmazonSmile program is a simple way for customers to support their favorite charity every time they shop. Since its launch, AmazonSmile has donated over $422 million dollars to nonprofit organizations across the globe. When a customer purchases an eligible item, AmazonSmile donates 0.5% of the purchase to the charitable organization of their choice. There are tens of millions of eligible products currently available.
To get started, go to smile.amazon.com on your web browser or activate AmazonSmile in the Amazon Shopping app on your iOS or Android phone within the Settings or Programs & Features menu. You don’t need to create a new account; simply log-in using your current credentials. You will then be prompted to select a charity from over one million public charitable organizations. We suggest you select Wilkinson Center!
And then start shopping! Donations on eligible purchases will automatically be sent directly to Wilkinson Center in support of our programs. Items on Wish Lists and registries are also eligible for the AmazonSmile program. Currently, recurring Subscribe-and-Save and subscription renewals are not eligible for donations. If you are shopping on a web browser, please make sure to use smile.amazon.com rather than amazon.com. Consider bookmarking smile.amazon.com on your favorites bar for easy access. Your phone app will automatically remember your charity selection, and you can continue to shop like usual.
